"Burn Baby Burn"

One of the fastest ways to actually lose fat is to “use fat”. Whether you realize it or not all of that extra weight you’re carrying will actually help you lose weight faster if you just let it do its job.

The more you weigh, the more energy your body expends on activity, even while you are at rest. The best way leverage your extra weight is to use it. The more you move, the more you lose [obviously if you’re not stuffing your face at the same time].

Here’s an example, lets say you and your never gains a pound friend get on treadmills side-by-side. You agree to a comfortable walking pace, program in that number, and start to walk.

Ok, who’s burning more calories?

Well if you said the friend who never gains a pound, you’d be wrong.

Whoever “weighs more, burns more”. Read that again. Depending on the weight difference between the two people the difference in the amount of calories burned can be quite astonishing.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been side-by-side a very athletic runner. In 30 minutes, at a moderate pace, I burn 400+ calories. My sweaty runner friend, has been at a constant high speed has barely broken 200 calories. Yes, they always seem a bit puzzled about how can it be that I at 250+ pounds am burning more than they.

So if you’re carrying any extra weight, shift your thinking to "burn baby burn" and imagine those extra pounds as a built-in metabolic burner. But most of all "use it to lose it".
